A crime meeting was held in Sandfern on Saturday, 23 July 2011 at 2:00 pm to discuss the issues relating to the recent criminal activities.
There have been four hijackings, 1 attempted hijacking and robberies on a daily basis.
Present at meeting was Warrent Officer, Norman Pillay and Ward Councillor Bradley Singh and more than 100 people who turned out to address the issues affecting the Sandfern community.
Councillor Singh commented that crime is a serious issue for everyone.
"We cannot accept the community being robbed of their hard earned valueables. Now that we have the police involved we can rest assured that some intervention will take place. Police visibility creates a massive deterrent to criminals and therefore we strongly advice the sector manager be part of process. We would like to thank Norman Pillay for his assistance in this serious matter", said Councillor Singh.
A sub-committee was formed at the meeting, which will now form part of the main body of the Redfern Crime Forum Committee.
Kind Regards
