Councillor Bradley Singh was invited to say a few words at the Lenham Senior Citizens Club when they hosted their pre-Women's Day Programme at the Catholic Church on Wednesday, August 3, 2011.

The club consists of 55 members who meet regularly and take adrenaline pumping excursions which brings excitement and joy to the members who have never had the advantages of such trips in their lifetimes.

Speaking to the members Singh said that "Women are the mothers of our societies and if you strike a woman you strike a rock". He talked extensively about how important a woman is in our society and our culture and to the lives of their families especially their children whom will one day be thankful for educating them.

He mentioned about the history of women in our country who had fought hard for their freedom. He also targeted the important issues of disability grant, housing and the meaning of education in our society.

Rajas Inder and her club received Singh with open arms and Inder said of the club, "We are pleased and very excited about this month especially since it is women's month. We have been providing entertainment by putting on plays, singing and dancing for the month of August.

This club is quite interesting as it gives people a sense of belonging and also an escape from the depressing and stressful lives they lead at home. We are here to share our experiences, laugh and enjoy each others company".

The club is open to all persons interested. For more information on joining the club please contact Rajas Inder on 031 507 7627 or 0839 48 3004.
